This is most likely because Orientation Lock (Screen Rotation Lock) is turned on for your phone. When orientation lock is enabled, your screen stays fixed in one position and won't rotate — which can prevent OneMob from displaying or recording correctly in the orientation you want. Disable orientation lock using the steps below for your device, then try OneMob again.
iOS (iPhone)
- Swipe down from the top-right corner of your screen to open Control Center.
- Locate the Portrait Orientation Lock button (the padlock with an arrow around it).
- Tap it to make sure it's turned off. If the icon is highlighted/filled in, it's currently on — tapping it will disable it.
- Close Control Center and turn your iPhone sideways to confirm the screen rotates.
If you don't see the Portrait Orientation Lock button in Control Center, you may need to customize Control Center to add it.
Android
Steps vary slightly by device, but the general process is the same:
- Swipe down twice from the top of your screen to open the full Quick Settings panel.
- Look for the Auto-Rotate tile (you may need to swipe sideways to find it).
- Check its current status:
- On most Android phones (e.g., Google Pixel): if Auto-Rotate is off, your screen is locked in portrait mode. Tap the tile to turn Auto-Rotate on, then rotate your phone to landscape.
- On Samsung Galaxy devices: turning off Auto-Rotate locks the screen in whatever orientation it's currently in (portrait or landscape). Rotate your phone to the orientation you want first, then tap the tile to lock it — or leave Auto-Rotate on to allow free rotation.
- Confirm the tile reflects the setting you want, then reopen OneMob.
