Web Browsers Capable of Supporting OneMob Recording Options
The recording options will work properly without the need to configure settings on your computer for the following web browsers:
- Firefox
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
Our current recording options do not function within the Safari web browser. Please use one of the browsers mentioned above to use the recording options.
Accessing the Recording Options
1. Click on the plus icon in the top left corner of your dashboard and click Record Video. (Quick Tip: You can also record from inside the microsite editor through the Add Featured Item button)
2. Click on one of the three options to record.
Information About Recording
- Our recorder has the capability to record in 1080p (HD) and will automatically record that if your webcam has that capability or will lower to your webcam's max quality if lower.
- Webcam will record from your computer's integrated webcam or a selected external webcam.
- Screen will create a screen recording with the option for audio from computer, external, or no audio. (Quick Tip: It is possible to record an entire window or only a specific tab rather than a full screen. Just select the window or tab to record)
- On Screen & Webcam, a drop-down menu will ask what corner of your screen you want the webcam footage to show in the recording or if you would like to do a split screen. (Quick Tip: This footage will not appear while recording but only in the finalized recording)
Recording via Webcam
After clicking on Webcam and clicking on Continue, read below for pre- and post-recording options. (Quick Tip: We have an article on recommendations for recording here)
Pre-Recording Options
1. Using a Teleprompter
- You can use a script by clicking on Use Teleprompter in the bottom right corner of your window.
- In Settings, there is an option to test run speed and size by selecting Run Script. (Quick Tip: When you click to record, the script will automatically return to the top)
- You can pick a pre-saved script by clicking on Pick Script.
2. Virtual Background
- You can select a blur or a preset image. You can also click on Select Image to select an image from your library or to upload an image from your device.
3. Click record!
- Once you have adjusted your pre-recording settings exactly how you want them, click the record button. A "3, 2, 1, Smile" will appear, and the recording will begin.
Recording via Screen
You will need to manually navigate to the space you would like to screen record after clicking the button.
If you would like to hide the following message, click on Hide. The benefit of this pop-up is that, once you click on Record, you have the option to click on Stop sharing in the screen, window, or tab you are in.
Note: Make sure, if the pop-up above is hidden, that it is opened back up at the end of the recording or that you return to where the recording button is, to stop the recording. If this is not completed, the recording will not end.
Recording Options
The webcam recorder has a maximum recording limit of 30 minutes. (Quick Tip: Encoding takes longer if you record for longer than ten minutes)
-
Discard, Resume, or Stop: After clicking on the pause icon, you have three options: Discard, Resume, or Proceed.
- If you click on Discard, you will be brought back to the original screen where you first clicked on Webcam.
- If you click on Resume, you will be able to continue recording from where you left off.
- If you click on Proceed, your video will finish, and a new window will open, for final details.
Post-Recording Options
Once you click on Proceed, you have the option to...
- Name your video at the top of the recording window.
- Preview the video by clicking the play icon in the center of the video.
- Click on Discard Video to start over again.
- Pick a watermark. (Quick Tip: The watermark cannot be removed once saved; you can add one after if you wish)
You can click on Save Video to save the video to your library. You will be directed to your library, where your video will be automatically selected but have a grayed-out thumbnail. (Quick Tip: You will receive a notification in the top right corner once your video has finished encoding)
You are done! You have created a video using our webcam recorder and are now ready to include it in the next link or email you send out. If you have any questions, reach out to the OneMob support team.
