With SMTP relay enabled, your Gmail/Google Workspace users can send emails from inside OneMob while those emails actually route through Gmail — meaning they'll show up in each user's Sent Mail, just like any other email they send.
Setup happens in two places: your Google Workspace Admin console and your OneMob admin settings. Complete the Google Workspace steps first.
Part 1: Google Workspace Settings
Step 1: Create a bounce-handling user
Create a new user in Google Workspace with the email address onemob-bounced@yourcompany.com (replace "yourcompany.com" with your actual domain). This address will be used as the return path for bounced emails. See Google's guide on creating a new user.
Step 2: Whitelist OneMob's IP for SMTP relay
- Log in to admin.google.com as a Google Workspace Admin.
- Go to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Advanced Settings.
- Scroll to the SMTP Relay Service section and click Edit (appears on hover).
- Check the option Only accept mail from the specified IP addresses.
- Click Add IP range, then enter:
34.214.115.223- You can label this entry "OneMob" or any name you'll recognize later.
- Save your changes and return to Advanced Settings.
Step 3: Enable comprehensive mail storage
In the same Advanced Settings for Gmail, confirm that Comprehensive Mail Storage is checked.
Step 4: Forward bounced emails to OneMob
This allows OneMob to track bounced emails on your behalf.
- From Advanced Settings, scroll to the Routing section.
- Click Configure (or Edit, if a rule already exists).
- Check Inbound.
- Check Only affect specific envelope recipients, and enter the bounce address you created in Step 1:
onemob-bounced@yourcompany.com - Under Also deliver to, click Add, and enter:
bounced@onemob.com - Click Save.
Step 5: Whitelist OneMob's domain
Whitelist @onemob.com so your users reliably receive email invites and notifications from OneMob.
Part 2: OneMob Settings
- As a OneMob Admin, go to Admin Settings.
- Click SMTP Settings.
- Toggle SMTP Settings on.
- Enter the following:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| IP or Host | smtp-relay.gmail.com |
| Port | 587 |
| Domain | Your website without "www." (e.g., onemob.com) |
| Return path for bounced emails | The bounce address from Part 1, Step 1 (e.g., onemob-bounced@yourcompany.com) |
| User Name / Password | Leave blank for most setups |
- Click Save Changes.
Test the Integration
Send a New Email from OneMob to an email address you have access to, and confirm the "From" address matches the login email of the OneMob account that sent it.
