Looking to download an embedded video from another website? This is OneMob's help article for our own customers — it covers how to share, embed, and download videos from your OneMob library. We're not a third-party video downloader.
While you're here, though — if the reason you wanted to download that video was to send it to someone and see whether they watched, OneMob does that natively. You record (or upload) a video, send it as a tracked link, and see exactly who opened it, how long they watched, and what they clicked. Free forever, no credit card.
Share a video by URL
You can share a OneMob video without setting up a full microsite by generating a quick URL link.
- Open your Content Library and find the video you want to share.
- Open its options and select URL & Embed.
- Click the copy icon to copy the URL. Paste it anywhere — email, chat, social, a doc — and anyone with the link can watch.
This is the same method we use to embed video tutorials inside OneMob help articles like this one.
Embed a video on your website
The embed code lets you place a OneMob video on any site that supports iframes — your blog, your marketing site, a landing page, a Notion doc.
- From the same URL & Embed panel, copy the iframe snippet.
- Paste it into the HTML of your page.
- The video plays inline on your site.
Embedding is a Pro and Enterprise feature.
Download a video file from your library
Need the raw video file — to repost it elsewhere, edit it in a more advanced tool, or archive it?
- Open your video's options.
- Click the Download button.
- An email will be sent to you with a link to download the video, thumbnail and subtitles.
Quick tip: if you edit a downloaded video and want it back in OneMob, just upload the new version to your library.
A better way: see who actually watched
A standalone URL or embed code is convenient, but it tells you nothing about who watched.
If you want to know who opened your video, how long they watched, where they scrolled, and what they clicked — send it as a OneMob campaign instead. Every view syncs to your CRM in real time, so you can follow up the hot ones first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use OneMob to download a video from another website? No. OneMob is a video sales platform for sharing and tracking videos you create. The Download button only saves videos from your own OneMob library — it doesn't rip embedded videos from third-party sites.
Do viewers need a OneMob account to watch a video I share? No. Anyone with the URL or embed code can watch — no account required.
Does sharing via URL or embed track engagement? A standalone URL or embed gives you no analytics. For full tracking — opens, watch time, clicks — send the video as a OneMob campaign with a microsite. [Start free →]
What format are downloaded videos in? MP4 — works in every major video player and editor.
What's the difference between a URL and an embed code? A URL is a shareable link (email, chat, social). An embed code is an iframe snippet you paste into a webpage so the video plays directly on that page.
(Quick Tip: Downloading a video allows you to post it or edit it in a more advanced video editor before re-uploading them into the library)
