To add a virtual background to your videos, you must record with a green screen behind you. Once recorded, you can replace that green screen with any image or video from your library.
Add a Virtual Background
- Click the Library icon on the left side of your dashboard.
- Under Content, click the video you want to edit.
- Click Edit.
- Click Green Screen.
- Click Add Background.
- Select an image or video from your library to use as your background.
- If you need to upload a new file first, exit the edit and upload it to your library — see these steps for how. Once uploaded, restart your green screen edit.
- Click Select.
- Click Apply.
- Click Save or Save as New.
Important: We recommend Save as New. If you click Save, your edited video permanently replaces the original — you'll no longer be able to access the unedited green screen version. Save as New keeps your original green screen recording intact, so you can apply different virtual backgrounds to it later.
Apply the Same Background to Multiple Videos
If you've recorded several videos in front of a green screen and want them to share the same virtual background, you can batch-apply the edit:
- Hover over each video you want to include and check the box in the bottom-left corner to select multiple items.
- Continue with the green screen edit steps above — the background will apply to all selected videos at once.
