With OneMob’s multi-step email campaign feature, you can build automated email sequences that send a series of emails to recipients over time. This allows you to nurture leads, follow up consistently, and track engagement across every step.
You can see a full demo here.
Overview
A multi-step campaign lets you:
- Send multiple emails in a defined sequence
- Schedule delays between each step
- Track engagement and conversions
- Stop campaigns for individuals or entire audiences
Each step in the sequence acts as its own email, and can be customized, reordered, and saved as a template.
Creating a Multi-Step Campaign
- Navigate to Campaigns in OneMob.
- Click Create Campaign.
- Add your first email step:
- Select or create your content (microsite, video, etc.)
- Write your subject line and message
- Click Add Step to include additional emails in the sequence.
Each step represents a follow-up email sent after a defined delay.
Scheduling Steps
For each step in your campaign:
- Set a delay interval (e.g., 2 days after the previous email)
- Customize timing based on your outreach strategy
Delays are applied sequentially, meaning each step sends after the previous one completes.
Reordering Steps
You can easily adjust the order of your sequence:
- Drag and drop steps into the desired order
- Timing will automatically adjust based on the new sequence
Campaign Behavior & Flow
Conversion & Goals
Campaigns can respond to recipient engagement:
- If a recipient converts (i.e. clicks on a defined goal in the microsite), the sequence will stop and the status will change to Converted
- This helps prevent over-emailing engaged prospects
Stopping Campaigns
You can stop campaigns at any time:
- Per recipient: Stop the sequence for a single contact
- Entire campaign: Pause or stop for all recipients
Campaign Statuses
OneMob provides detailed status tracking for each recipient:
- In Progress – Actively moving through the sequence
- Completed – Finished all steps
- Converted – Achieved a defined goal
- Stopped – Manually halted
- Bounced – Email delivery failed
- Unsubscribed – Recipient opted out
- Invalid – Bad email address
- Failed – Sending error occurred
These filters help you quickly understand campaign performance.
Important Limitations
-
Campaigns cannot be edited after sending
- Double-check all steps, timing, and content before launching
- Email timing may be affected by account-level sending rules
Email Sending Rules & Throttling
Email delivery is subject to your organization’s configured sending limits.
- Campaign steps may be delayed if limits are reached
- This ensures compliance and protects deliverability
Refer to the Email Rules article for more details on throttling and send limits.
Best Practices
- Space out emails to avoid overwhelming recipients
- Use clear calls-to-action in each step
- Monitor engagement and stop campaigns when needed
- Save high-performing steps as templates for reuse
